Reform

I read the Reform Contract 2024 (Their manifesto) so you don’t have to!

As I write this on Friday 20th February 2026, it has been announced this week that Rupert Lowe MP has formed a new party to rival Reform called Restore Britain.

A party for people who think Reform aren’t far Right enough.

This is great news as it will probably split the Right wing vote and has already created some infighting.

Anyway, some time ago I trawled through Reform’s manifesto and cherry picked what I think are the most urgent and worrying aspects. There’s plenty more to worry about, including their (contradictory) ideas about the environment.

I’m going to lay it all out here and connect the dots so anyone wanting to vote Reform will hopefully be able to see the danger and strategies employed to make you think they’re a viable option.

They’re not. They’re an existential threat to our freedoms and way of life dressed up as patriotism and traditional values.

For anyone that wants to ‘Stop the Boats’, what price would you be willing to pay to make that happen?

Would you give up your own Human Rights?

Because by scrapping the ECHR, that’s how Reform say they will stop them…

Look at that list and think about the implications.

It’s a trick to convince you that giving up your own rights is a good idea by villifying asylum seekers and immigrants.

As for the ‘boat problem’ there are other solutions that don’t require stripping away EVERYBODY’S human rights. Leaving the EU made things worse. Farage pushed for Brexit and I don’t see any benefits. The routes for immigration and deals we had with other European countries are now void, so ‘Sending them back’ isn’t as simple as it used to be.

If the boats are stopped, what do you think will happen next?

That’s right, they’ll set their sights on another scapegoat, most likely the LGBTQIA+ community, the poor and other minorities.

Only then, they won’t be protected by the ECHR and the Government can legally do whatever they want to them.

Along with scrapping the European Convention on Human Rights. Reform also want to scrap the Equalities Act which would leave EVERYONE vulnerable to exploitation at work and no protection against discrimination anywhere.

They are convincing people this is a good idea by scapegoating the trans community and crying ‘woke’ about our hard won rights and protections.

Even if you hate the ‘Woke agenda’ 🫠 or disagree on trans issues, are you willing to give up your own rights/protections in order to punish those people?

Harming one group of people will harm us all.

Let’s assume Reform scrap the Equalities Act and leave the ECHR, that leaves workers ripe for exploitation by employers. We’d have no protections, bosses would have no accountability under law.

It’s not hard to imagine a sudden increase in working hours, lower wages, scrap the weekend, repeal child labour laws (which is being suggested by the way) being fired for no reason, no contracts.

Think of all the ways employers could make your life harder and it’ll probably happen to someone, somewhere.

All because they’ve convinced you to hate trans people and immigrants.

This would be disasterous! So many people would die, become homeless and destitute simply because they needed treatment for an illness that isn’t their fault.

We would become like the USA. Streets and streets of tents, crushing medical debt, people unable to afford life saving medications or being denied cancer treatment because their insurance policy doesn’t cover that type of cancer.

Insurance in general is notoriously difficult to get payouts from. While you’re waiting for a claim to be processed you might die or a simple delay might cause irreversible medical complications.

The NHS has been deliberately neglected and defunded by the Conservatives for well over 10 years. Labour are now increasing spending which is a step in the right direction, but it does need more help.

The aim of running down the NHS is to make private healthcare and insurance seem like a more appealing option, the only benefit being profits for themselves and no guaranteed improvements to the care or services provided to the general population.

I can’t think of a single reason why this could be considered a good idea. Saving money is the reason Reform want us to leave the organisation, but surely the cost of maintaining membership is worth it if the whole aim is to cure disease and save lives?

I don’t know exactly what a ‘Patriotic curriculum’ looks like, but only teaching children about the historical wins we’ve had as a nation or painting ourselves as heroes or the ‘good guys’ isn’t objective reality, it’s indoctrination. The British Empire has commited horrendous crimes and is responsible for so much death in the name of civilization and colonisation.

Estimating the total deaths caused by the British Empire is complex, with no single, universally agreed-upon figure due to the vast, centuries-long span of colonial rule. Conservative estimates often run into the tens of millions when including famine, war, and exploitation, with some estimates for India alone exceeding 30 million over specific periods.

The exact number is subject to ongoing historical debate and varies depending on what is defined as a “killed” person (e.g., direct violence vs. indirect famine).

Our role in the transatlantic slave trade also needs objectivity, the impact of that is still felt now and shouldn’t be down played or trivialised.

What exactly would be the definition of ‘Woke’ here? The meaning of that word has changed so quickly in the space of a few years, I would be keen to see exactly what they mean.

I know what they mean though. It’s the same thing as ‘teaching a patriotic curriculum’

They don’t want people learning about the crimes of the British Empire because they want to cultivate an unrealistic image of our nation and history. We’re justified in commiting atrocities because… We’re entitled? Superior?

It’s untrue, a distortion of fact and reality in an attempt to indoctrinate the young who don’t know any different.

It’s censorship and propaganda.

I actually think that our Police need more funding. This isn’t the USA where the NYPD get an annual budget of $6.43 Billion.

Yes. Billion.

UK Police were underfunded by the Conservatives to the point where the Chief of Scotland Yard said in an interview that they didn’t have the man power to prevent any kind of terrorist attack.

That was when Theresa May was in power.

The Police as an idea is a complicated one, a topic for another time perhaps? But the danger is how they are used and who is controlling them.

Following the rule of law isn’t always the right thing to do. Police who enforced the law and arrested peaceful protesters as terrorists, including OAP’s, simply for holding up a sign or wearing clothing that said ‘Palestine Action’, were just doing their job.

Just following orders.

Now if you look at the powers Reform want to grant Police, combined with stripping away all of our human rights, including freedom from TORTURE, this should look very alarming to you.

Anyone who thinks it won’t happen here, just look at ICE in the USA. People here already think it’s a good idea!

It’s a good idea until it happens to them. Granting Police that much power is like creating Judge Dredd.

You could be doing absolutely nothing, minding your own business, but if you’re unlucky enough to encounter a Police Officer in a bad mood, or who simply doesn’t like the way you’re dressed, you could be disappeared off the street and sent to who knows where?

No legal aid. You gave up that right because you don’t like immigrants remember?

If they plan to deport so many people, who are those new detention centres for?

Us. Anyone who dissents or peacefully protests.

Everyone should be held accountable for their crimes. Nobody should be above the law, even in War. Especially in War, because that’s when people get away with literal murder.

Keep in mind the possibility that the military could be deployed within the UK against it’s own people.

Would you want those soldiers to be above the law?

The House of Lords probably should be disbanded, they aren’t elected and I honestly don’t know how much influence they really have.

Instead of abolishing this, Reform instead want to keep the structure and the power, but replace the Lords with people of their own choosing.

Unelected.

People from the private sector who are no doubt Capitalists looking out for themselves and making deals that benefit them and not the general population.

Yes, this is pure speculation, but if you don’t like being told what to do my unelected officials, you should be against this.

It’s subversion of democracy.

As I said at the start, there are other things to be concerned about in the Reform Contract 2024, go and have a read.

But, I think it’s a pretty clear pathway to blatant fascism.

Do not vote for Reform UK.

Do not vote for Restore Britain.
